About the band
Back in 2001 keyboard player STEVE HUTCHINSON from the band 'SOUNDS OF SMOKIE' was invited to record some songs with ALAN SILSON the original guitarist, vocalist and songwriter from 'SMOKIE'.
Together they recorded the songs 'If You Think You Know How to Love Me', 'Living Next Door to Alice' and 'What can I do'. They also decided to put a band on the road to perform all of the previous Smokie hit songs and successfully toured together performing at venues, theatres and festivals throughout Scandinavia, Europe and Ireland.
Later in 2009 Steve and Alan teamed up again when Alan joined Steve's 'UK LEGENDS' band to perform at festivals in Poland.
In the following years the UK Legends band would continue to perform Smokie songs in their show at festivals throughout Europe, Scandinavia and the UK with Alan Silson sometimes appearing as a special guest.
In 2016 Steve set up and registered his very own dedicated Smokie tribute band under the name of 'SONGS OF SMOKIE' which has since performed many shows at festivals in Poland, Europe and throughout the UK.
Today the band features carefully chosen professional musicians who together recreate that distinctive Smokie sound, in particular the very distintive 5-part harmonies that featured in many of the Smokie hits.
The musicianship within the band is second to none with Steve Hutchinson providing the crucial ingredient of the distinctive string arrangements that featured so heavily in the Smokie recordings with Alan Silson's destinctive guitar solos and harmonies being perfectly recreated in the Songs of Smokie show by the members of the band.
Collectively, these hand picked professional musicians bring to their audiences the undeniable and distinctive sound of...
